The Volcán Barú

Picture
Miranda chose "Barú" for her film production company name after the only volcano in her native country of Panama...beautiful, enchanting and mysterious! The Volcán Barú is the tallest mountain in the country at 3,474 meters (11, 398 ft) high located in a tropical rainforest in the province of Chiriquí (where her mother and grandmother were born). It is a dormant volcano, but potentially active. The last major eruption happened around 500 AD and there are some reports and evidence of another minor eruption around 1550 AD. Due to its height and Panama's short width, it is possible to see both the Pacific Ocean and The Caribbean Sea from Volcán Barú's peak on a clear day!
